Welcome to the SAFER Latinos website! We hope that members of the community, researchers, and others will find the site a useful way to learn about the project, obtain valuable information and materials, and provide us with feedback.

The SAFER Latinos Project, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services), is a unique effort to address youth violence in the Latino community by focusing on the community as a whole. It is a collaborative effort between the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services, the Latino Federation of Greater Washington, and the Latin American Youth Center. The goal of this project is to address issues at the community level that contribute to violence, and in doing so to provide support for families, youth, and the community. We hope that this project will reduce the involvement of youth in violence and increase their options to pursue other paths.

Again, welcome!
